Classic range - 90-150+ portions - 2, 3 & 4 Tier cakes - Local delivery available on some sizes.
Planning Tip: Keep your cake at room temperature, out of direct sunlight, and never in a fridge or cold room. Our tiers do not require refrigeration.

Where are you based? Our address is: Gardners Bakery, 85 Harborough Road, Kingsthorpe, Northampton, NN2 7SL. We have a physical store located at our bakery, Est. 1910, where all of our cakes are made to order. Open hours: Tuesday-Friday 10am-3pm, Saturday 10am-2pm.
How much notice do you recommend? We recommend you order as soon as is convenient for yourself. 3-6 months is recommended, however we always try to accommodate last minute requests. As much notice as possible is best - April to October is peak season and deliveries get booked up quickly. We take bookings up to 1.5 years in advance.
What makes them a budget cake? The difference between our Budget range and our Classic range is the amount of portions. The quality of the sponge & decorations is exactly the same. There are a few key differences:
Budget range: Feeds up to 60 portions, Designs are limited, Flavours incur additional fees and Delivery is not available (not even for a fee).
Classic range: Feeds 90-150+ portions, More detailed designs, Most flavour options are included, Local delivery is available for some sizes (£).
Do you offer consultations? If you're planning on popping into store to view some of our designs and discuss your ideas, we'd recommend calling ahead and booking a time slot. This ensures a member of our team can give you the attention your big day deserves. Get in touch for a free no-obligation consultation.
How do I confirm a booking? A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking, this can be paid in store or over the phone. We recommend booking a time slot to ensure our team is free to help you. The remaining balance is due the week before the wedding (or before).
Can I pay to have my cake delivered? If you're ordering one of our Budget cakes, this range is for collection only from our Northampton store. Our cakes come pre-stacked, decorated and do not need refrigerating. Drive slowly & carefully with your cake in the boot of your car. If you're ordering from our Classic cake range, we offer local delivery on our larger sizes for an additional fee, but these do book up quickly.
Can you help with last minute orders? We can't make any promises, but we can certainly try our best. We've made wedding cakes with as little as 2 hours notice! Although designs may be limited, give us a call to see how we can help.
